Who are we
The Norwich Model Aero Club was founded in 1928 and currently uses the flying facilities at RAF
Coltishall. The Club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA)
The Norwich Model Aero Club (NMAC) has some eighty members and covers most disciplines
from fixed-wing and helicopters through to gliders. All varieties of flying are represented from
general sport through to scale and full aerobatic schedules. We are very fortunate to have a
generally clear site, free of obstacles as well as varied flight lines as dictated by wind conditions.
Parking, pits and flight line areas are well separated to facilitate the safe enjoyment of our sport.
Safety is always a prime issue within the NMAC. There is a concrete hard-standing for use as a
model runway, grassed areas for “wheels-up” landings as well as safe areas for heli’ flyers.
Flying Training is available via our in-house “Buddy-Box” under the supervision of our nominated
instructors as well as from many of the dedicated members. The Club also has BMFA registed
examiners.
Along with the BMFA, our Club is dedicated to “The promotion, protection, organisation and
encouragement of all forms of model aircraft building, flying and development in all its
aspects...........”
For further information on membership, access times and entry details, please contact the Club
Secretary or Treasurer from the Committee list.
This can be done via the email which can be found on the home page thank you.
