This is a Mick Reeves 1/6th scale FW190D kit, I am building this model for the simple reason that I was offered one at a good price! The model goes together very easily with a simple fuselage and foam wings, I decided to power it with a MVVS 91 engine, this is exactly the same engine as will be powering James's FW190 (we got two of them for a discounted price!) The retracts are american made air-up air-down types, hopefully when I get my lathe working I will make some oleo's for them. As can be seen on the photograph, the kit uses a very neat system for the fuel tank where it is built into the fuselage and the brass fuel lines protrude directly through the firewall, I decided to expand on that idea a bit by building in the air tank next to the fuel tank in the same manner. The model is reported to fly very well by everyone I have talked to who have had one (as long as I remember to bolt the wings on before taking off eh Phil!) so I have good expectations of this one.
